Anna Ryburn | Principal Solicitor (Mandarin)
The principal solicitor, Anna Ryburn, has 28 years of broad-ranging professional experience as a solicitor in private practice. She has been the Director of Ryburn Solicitors since 2012. Anna holds a combined Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Chinese Studies (Honours) from the Australian National University and a Master of Interpreting and Translating from Western Sydney University.
Ryburn Solicitors has served Afghan communities with a multifaceted and comprehensive suite of migration advice and capabilities over a 14 year period and has been based in the Guildford/Merrylands area over this period.
Anna oversees the conveyancing, leasing, sale and purchase of business, general commercial matters and wills and estate planning work of the office.
She completed over 10 years as a litigation solicitor all in courts of New South Wales establishing a solid skill set for family law property matters, debt recovery and other litigation matters.
She has comprehensive experience in all aspects of migration law from visa lodgements through to tribunal merits reviews and court judicial reviews as well as complex identity issues.
Anna Ryburn is also a Notary Public.
Her fluent Mandarin language skills and the Dari/Hazaragi/Farsi/Hindi/Urdu and Cantonese speaking staff facilitate the capacity of Ryburn Solicitors to service clients from these language backgrounds.
Sherzad Kamali | Office Manager and Interpreter (Dari/Farsi)
Sherzad has 10 years’ experience working for Ryburn Solicitors and has extensive general knowledge of all office work but especially in migration matters pertaining to Afghan and Iranian clients.
Many clients have had the benefit of initial conversation and practical suggestion from Sherzad as he directs our clients to the most relevant solicitor or consultant in the office. His years of experience working in Ryburn Solicitors have honed his abilities such that his interpreting is practical and adept in crossing cultural divides for migrants entering an Australian legal environment for the first time.
He is fluent in Dari/Farsi and Hazaragi.

Mohammad Kamali | Migration Administrative Officer (Dari/Farsi)
Mohammad has worked as migration executive assistant with Ryburn Solicitors for 9 years. He has extensive corporate memory and experience with migration-related forms and problem solving. He holds a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Hons) from Manchester Metropolitan University, U.K.
He works remotely from the United Kingdom where the different time zone assists with global communication and statement preparation. He is responsible for all overseas health assessment bookings and police clearance matters.
Mohammad is fluent in English, Dari/Farsi and Hazaragi. He is an experienced interpreter and translator.

Sweta Prakhar| Solicitor (Hindi/Urdu)
Sweta has over 10 years’ experience in the legal profession. She holds an LLB from Banaras Hindu University and an LLM from Osmania University. Sweta is fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu.
Sweta is responsible for Property and Leasing matters. She also represents clients in criminal, family and other court proceedings as well as looking after some of the firm’s migration files.

Farhat Zia Alizoy | Senior Paralegal (Dari/Farsi)
Farhat brings over 12 years of legal experience in NGO, public sector and private sector settings. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and Political Science from Kabul University. He is nearing completion of Australian legal qualifications and will practice as an Australian solicitor in the near future.
His legal analytical ability and broad experience of work settings make him a highly skilled legal thinker and member of Ryburn Solicitors.
Farhat has great capacity in complex legal matters. He is very experienced with complex migration issues and has good general knowledge of the full range of legal work.
He is fluent in English and Dari/Farsi.

Mir Ahmed Rashid Nayrem | Humanitarian Executive Officer (Dari/Farsi)
Rashid has a breadth and depth of work experience from a career including work in Afghanistan, Turkiye, England and Australia. His roles have been in public service, administration and human resources. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Kabul Polytechnic University and is fluent in English, Dari/Farsi, and Turkish.
Rashid is a senior staff member at Ryburn Solicitors responsible for Humanitarian and Refugee visa advice and applications of all types. He additionally has general knowledge of all areas of legal work in the office. His judgement, critical thinking and attention to detail is highly valued by our office and our clients.

Clinton joined the firm in July 2022. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts & Business at UNSW Sydney and speaks English, Vietnamese and Teo-Chew.
